Remake Learning

Commissioned by Root + All, we’ve designed and illustrated an armful of resources to help Remake Learning spark engaging, relevant, and equitable learning practices to support young people in southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond.

Cover of a booklet titled 'The Pittsburgh Principles' with subtitles about lessons learned from 15 years of stewardship of a learning ecosystem. The page features eight colorful badges with advice for learning and community involvement, such as 'Meet the Neighbors,' 'Learning Already Happens Everywhere,' 'Don't Forget the Grownups,' 'Make It Normal,' 'Never Stop Learning,' 'Open Many Doors,' 'Tell Your Story,' and 'Make Lots of Little Bets.' The booklet is placed on a wooden surface.

If you have kids, or if your work intersects with education, you’ve probably noticed that school looks different than it did when you were in a classroom. Slowly but surely educators, parents, and students have recognized that a regular school day requires an irregular number of disparate places, people, and programs to make it effective.

The Pittsburgh Principles outlines the knowledge gained from this “learning ecosystem,” each with a little badge we designed to highlight the lessons learned.
