We worked with Pitt’s Department of Education, supported by the Wallace Foundation, to design a report outlining their research providing insight into youth arts programs that provide a sense of belonging, identity affirmation, and skill development.


Well-being is holistic wellness in youth’s present lives, which includes mental/psychological, physical, and social dimensions of life satisfaction.

The 18-month study included 35 youth arts organizations in eight US cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Louisville, Newark/Paterson, Oakland, Tacoma, and Washington, D.C.
